In Silence, I
Upon this place, in silence I
Open my mind, open my eye;
That seeing, I might know,
And knowing, I might see,
That silence is the only part
Of wisdom come to me.
Upon this place, in silence yet
I stake my claim, a sucker's bet,
That loving, I might heal,
And healing, I might love;
For cowardice is just a way
To hold myself above.
Upon this place, in silence now
I take my stand, I make my vow;
That giving, I might take,
And taking, I might give.
For life cannot be stolen from
A man who will not live.
Upon this place, in silence still
I bare my heart, relax my will.
That feeling, I might touch,
And touching, I might feel,
That grief is just another face,
On the turning of the wheel.
