Against a Soul Unhid

Cast aside your fleshly clothes and walk with me awhile
To places where the cold wind blows the breath from my denial
    of things I never said

To places far, to places eft, having touched, so brief, my sin
Unhealed scars, forgiveness reft, the patina much too thin
    across my mortal dread

Cast aside your fleshly clothes and ride the phantom horse
To places thick with attar rose and bittersweet remorse
    for things I never did

To places where the spirit delves the craven and the brave
Huddled in amongst myselves, I hold my fragile glaive
    against a soul unhid
