22 July 2004 - Check-up Results

Hi, everyone.

Very good news from the doctor. The boys and I are ALL free of nasty parasites. Our symptoms are caused by a bacterial infection, which is MUCH more easily and safely treated.

The boys' bloodwork came back super-clean. The only values outside the norm were their BUN counts, which are a little bit low due to dehydration from all the diarrhea. We're all starting antibiotics today and should start feeling better very soon.

We're not going to do anything about Zack's heart murmur until he's fully hydrated, not infected, and had a chance to finish acclimating to a nutritious diet. They've each already grown and gained weight. Both of them have lost that pinched look and are smiling all the time.
